Youth Hostel

For a cheaper option or for students, please contact the following Youth Hostel, situated in the middle of the city. The Youth Hostel can also arrange for 2-beds or 4-beds appartements for a good price.

Slottskogens Vandrarhem

Prices vary from 25 – 34 Euro/night. Bookings for 2-bed rooms are made in advance. Prices for these are 19 Euro/night for members in STF/IYHF, 25 Euro/night for non-members.

ARRIVING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT

By plane

Travelling to and from Landvetter International airport is quite easy. Regular bus and and taxi services are provided. The airport is around 10 kilometers from city center.

If you come to Göteborg City Airport, you find regular buses and taxis just outside the arrival hall. Look on the website for more information, www.goteborgairport.se.

 

By Bus

There is a bus leaving grom Landvetter airport every 10-30 minuites. The busstop is just outside the front of the arrival hall. It has the sign ”Flygbuss” and will take you to the center of the city. First stop is Korsvägen, then Park Aveny, Kungsportsplatsen, Nils Ericssons Terminalen. The price is 7 € one way. You can also look at website: www.flygbussarna.se, there is an English translation.

If you stay at Hotel Poseidon or Hotel Vasa, the best is to get off at Park Aveny. To both hotels, you can walk. To go to the Hotel Scandic-Crown you get off at Nils Ericssonplatsen (at the Central Station). The hotel is very close to the station, just ask for the hotel and people can show the way. For the Youth Hostel it is easiest to take a taxi from Park Aveny. Taxi is quite expensive, but probably the best way until you find your way around. The other option is to walk down the Avenue to Vasaplatsen and take a tram from there towards Linnéplatsen. You get off at "Nordenskiöldsgatan" (one stop before Linnéplatsens).

By Taxi

You can also choose to go by taxi to the city centre. The main taxi company at the airport is Taxi Göteborg. The price from Landvetter Airport to city centre is around 39 €. If you share taxi, the price is the same. There is also the Mini Taxi, they are a little bit cheaper. Transport once in Gothenburg

Public transportation is mainly the tram or buses. From all hotels it is around a 10-15 minutes walk to the venue of the Conference, except from the Youth Hostel. From the hostel it is best to take tram nr 6 towards "Korsvägen" and get off at "Scandinavium". Västtrafik is the public transport company in West Sweden. You can visit the website and find the number of trams and buses to all destinations. Please visit www.vasttrafik.se.

The cost of one-way ride is 2.2 €. If you plan to use the tram or bus, the best is to buy the Göteborg Pass. With this pass you can travel free around Göteborg and benefit from other offers. Please visit www.goteborg.com for more information.
